A Guide to Proper Weekly Office Cleaning

Clients expect professional, courteous, and high-quality service every time they get cleaning done.  Attention to detail and communication with our client is of the utmost importance. Our process of cleaning ensures that we will provide a deep-clean, in a methodical manner, so as to do it in a productive and efficient way each time.

Entrance/Vestibule

The entrance of a building is the most important aspect of any office building, as it is the first thing one sees upon arrival. In that sense, it set the tone for the entire building. The entryway should be swept and mopped, any cobwebs or debris removed, and the carpet cleaned or replaced.

Offices

Desks should be wiped down thoroughly with a gentle disinfectant, looking for any fingerprints, dust, or spills. We never move personal items on a desk, but if dirt builds up, we will clean the surface, returning the item to exactly where it found.

Any surfaces that cannot be reached, a dust wand will be used, and we will be sure to clean up any displaced dust. All trash and recycle bins will be emptied, disinfected, and cleaned, removing any stains or spots. The bag will be replaced, fitting tightly around the mouth of the bin, with the air released from the inside. Offices should be tidied, chairs pushed under desks and anything out of place returned.

Floors

Any items that can be removed from the floor, should be contained in one section of the office. Floors should then be swept for any large items that could clog the vacuum. The vacuuming should be performed in the same systematic manner each time, starting with a broad pattern coverage, then followed with the wand to clean baseboards, nooks, and the ceiling for any possible cobwebs. The section of the office with the bins can be returned, the remaining area swept and vacuumed in the same manner. The floor may be mopped, depending on the circumstance.

Restrooms

Toilets must be completely free of any particles. The entire porcelain and chrome will be sprayed with disinfectant, including under the seat, below the bowl’s rim, and behind any exposed pipes. Use the brush for any difficult parts and then spray it with disinfectant. Next, with paper towels, proceed to wipe down the chrome, followed by the top of the toilet on down, replacing the paper towels as needed.

To finish, take one last handful of paper towels and give it one last wipe. Be sure to flush when you are complete. Spray down any surfaces within the stall and wipe down surfaces thoroughly with paper towels.

Replace any supplies that require replenishing, and place the Wet Floor sign visibly by the door. Proceed to mop the floor starting from the furthest point, making your way back to the entrance.

Mirrors

Only use vinegar, windows, or glass cleaners for mirrors, anything else will leave streaks or smears.  When cleaning restrooms, always start with the mirrors. Spray the mirrors, faucet, and counter. Start at the top of the mirror, wipe from the top down using paper towels until you get to the counter. Ensure that you thoroughly wipe down all surfaces and crevices with clean paper towels.

Windows

Spray just enough cleaner required to remove any fingerprints or spots. Wipe the entire window until completely dry and then look at the window from multiple angles, squatting down, ensuring it is completely clear.
